Welcome!

Re-USA is a blog dedicated to our campaign to re-brand the United States of America. We are 6 students from the University of Oregon and the main idea for our campaign is "Remember You're the Host."

We feel that the problem we are trying to solve is that America is not looked upon as hospitable country that is respectful of tourists but rather a self-consumed,ignorant nation that is solely understanding of its own way of life. Regardless whether or not this is the case, that stereotype needs to be reversed in order for America to restore a positive image amongst its global peers. The better we can communicate the idea that "You Are The Host" and that we want to show people who come to America the best time possible, the more respect America will attain from not only direct tourists but the people they interact with on a daily basis in their own homeland. Remembering that word-of-mouth is very strong will be a huge step in bettering perceptions of America.

Our overall plan and campaign is dedicated to inform and remind Americans that they are in fact the host to a country with great, if not the greatest foreign interest. When interacting with people from other countries, their encounter with even one foreign tourist can resonate and reflect the entire image of America to that one person. Specifically, the people we want to target is the service industry because they are the ones who interact with tourists the most often. So, reminding and informing people that they reflect America's image to foreign tourists is key and will be executed in our "Remember You Are the Host" campaign. We will conduct commercials, out-of-home, banners and print ads. Basically, anything that can possibly catch the eye of someone in the service industry. Our overall strategy is to remind Americans that the way they act reflects upon themselves and the country. It can affect the way visiting foreigners not only perceive the country, but how they talk about their visit in America to other foreigners.

So, we will update and post our creative executions and experiences through this blog and hope that you will join us and become part of the movement to remind everyone of how great America really is.

Make U.S. Proud.
